Family & Friends CPR

Taught by a Registered Nurse and certified CPR instructor, this is an Adult, Child and Infant CPR and safety class through the American Heart Association. We will cover CPR as well as choking relief. *THIS IS A NON-CERTIFYING CLASS, intended for expecting parents, new parents and/or extended family who may care for baby.

Price listed is for 2 individuals to attend and share a mannequin - if you'd like to register only 1 person please email us. 

This class takes place at Elliot Hospital - River's Edge, 185 Queen City Ave in Manchester. You will park in the garage and cross into the medical building, and we are on the main floor past the reception desk on the right hand side.

Maternity Center Tour

We invite you to join one of our nurses for a tour of our Labor & Delivery and Postpartum/Maternity units. Tours will include basic information about parking and entering the hospital, as well as routine care provided while in the hospital. Getting to see a room on each unit is dependent on the number of patients being cared for and may not always be possible.

 

Tours will meet right in the lobby of the main entrance of the hospital.

 

*If you have a lot of questions regarding the labor process, we encourage you to sign up for one of our "Learn to Labor" prenatal classes as our time during tours is limited. 

Caring for Baby In-Person

This class is taught by one of Elliot Hospital’s nurses and is designed to prepare expectant parents on how to care for and feed their newborn during the first six weeks of life. Topics covered include: normal newborn procedures and tests, infant bathing, diapering, skin care, dressing, proper car seat use, safe sleep, choosing a healthcare provider and symptoms to report.

This class will take place at Elliot Hospital’s main campus. We kindly ask that you present to the main entrance a few minutes prior to the scheduled start of class, your instructor will meet you in the lobby. Our cafeteria will be open to purchase food from 7am-7pm.

Learn to Labor In-Person

3 additional sessions through Jul 25, 2026

This class is taught by our certified childbirth educators who are also nurses within the Elliot Hospital Maternity Center. It is designed to help our patients prepare for their childbirth experience and support partners prepare for their crucial role. Topics covered include: 3rd trimester pregnancy changes, the birth process, coping strategies for labor (including positioning, relaxation strategies, breathing patterns and pain medication options), cesarean delivery and early postpartum care.

This class will take place at the Elliot Hospital's Rivers Edge location on 185 Queen City Avenue. You can park in the garage and cross into the medical building, we are on the ground floor down the hall on the right hand side. We highly encourage packing lunch for our 1-day classes, there is a scheduled break and vending machines are available. For our evening classes, feel free to bring drinks and snacks. This site does not have a refrigerator so please plan accordingly. We will review a virtual tour in class, please schedule an in-person one separately if you are interested.

Breastfeeding Basics In-Person

Taught by a lactation consultant from Elliot Hospital’s Maternity Center, this class introduces parents to the benefits of breastfeeding and how to get off to a good start. Topics covered include: comfortable positioning for breastfeeding, avoiding common problems, and the basics of pumping and storing milk.

This class will take place at Elliot Hospital’s main campus. We kindly ask that you present to the main entrance a few minutes prior to the scheduled start of class, your instructor will meet you in the lobby. Our hospital cafeteria will be open from 7am-7pm if you'd like to purchase food or drinks.

Caring for Baby Virtual

This class is taught by one of Elliot Hospital’s nurses and is designed to prepare expectant parents on how to care for and feed their newborn during the first six weeks of life. Topics covered include: normal newborn procedures and tests, infant bathing, diapering, skin care, dressing, proper car seat use, safe sleep, choosing a healthcare provider and symptoms to report.

This class will be run by a live instructor via Zoom.
